Pla sod is also the name of platy, sailfin molly, and other of the group such as variatus etc. in old books. Anyway I think it is a variety of hybrid sailfin molly.

I remembered around 20 years ago fish shops I bought platys and mollies and swordtail named them Pla sod platy, Pla sod midnight, pla sod hang dab. Maybe the word Pla sod was dropped afterwards?
Also in the book "Koo mur lieng pla too" printed in 2523 the name "pla hang dab" is used only for swordtail, and the name "pla sod" [may be derived from "sword"] is the catch-all name for swordtail, moonfish [platy], midnight variety of molly, highfin variatus and sailfin molly [excluding guppy].

I guess molly that can do well in seawater may be pure or hybrid form of sailfin and other mollies. In the wild in the US to Mexico some sailfin mollies live in brackish water, as are many species of mollies. I do not know much about swordtail, platy and variatus, but many wild forms in Central America live in streams and some streams do have high pH and hardness.
