Devario regina: deep-body with 5 bluish stripe and 5 interspaces on body side,third interspace obacure or absent on tail and third stripe reflected out on median caudal rays. D.peninsulae:general colour silvery,with a blackish stripe on side beginning below dorsal fin and extending to base of caudal fin and caudal peduncle pale orange-yellow.(Nakon Sritammarat) D.suvatti : larger cleithral spot and only maxillary barbels present,4 to 6 stripes on body side.(Trang)

Thanks. Unfortunately I had never been collecting in the South at all. Maybe Mr. Plateen can help you on this subject. However I had seen Devario regina from Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi and the number of gold/orange/orange-red stripes can vary from 1 - 4 even in the same population, with 2 - 3 stripes being the commonest. Observation on Kanchanaburi regina that accidently spawned and on grown-up youngs collected elsewhere shows that the number of stripes increase with growth. Hope this help.
