They are found both in slower water of the streams and in dams near shoreline.  Ones in  stream seem to be bigger than in dam.  They live near plants, logs, roots and/or rock piles over mud, sand or gravel substrate in clear water.  Some individuals in the same school have yellow dorsal and anal fins, while other individuals have clear fins.
