Crocodylus siamensis was mentioned from Kaeng Krachan already in 1987 in an article by Nabhitabhata and Tantiwithayaphithak (see Sarakadee, 3 (29)), and in several other articles in the 90's. More recently, pictures from Kaeng Krachan were presented by Platt et al. (see Natural History Bulletin of the Siam Society, 50 (1)) and Kekule (2004, in his book on Thailand's natural heritage). It is not yet sure if there is more than one specimen, or even if it is a true C. siamensis, and not a specimen released or escaped from a breeding center. Genetic studies should be done, to see if it is not a hybrid with Crocodylus porosus - it is these hybrids that are bred in crocodile farms.

Tomistoma was also mentioned, in three articles, from Kaeng Krachan. Unfortunately, there is no picture nor any voucher specimens. Several villagers in Phetchaburi Province told me that that species used to live there until about 30 years ago. There should be surveys in Kaeng Krachan to check for Tomistoma and Crocodylus siamensis.
