Anyway, I assume that deep sea angler fish is not the smallest species, due to its feamle still much larger than 7 cm. The smallest species should be count at overall population(s) of that fish, both males/females at its maximum sizes. Same case as Danionella translucida from Burma also noted as smallest freshwater fish, but when more samples encountered, it attains 1.5 cmSL, as well as Erithisthes mesottensis case, it was noted that one of smallest catfish, but later, much larger fish found, even up to 5 cm. Pandaka pigmaea also found over 1.6 cm. Boraras micros also found 1.4 (1.38) cm at largest size, from nearly 100 specimens in 5 years collection.
