The Pa Daeng giant danio has reddish dorsum, dorsal fin and caudal fin. Otherwise it is not different [so far] from other Kanchanaburi, Myanmar border and Ratchaburi giant danios. The reddish dorsum fade in captivity and in preserve specimens, but the red coloration in dorsal and caudal fins remain on preserved specimens. Do not forget that male giant danio is slenderer than female, and the number of stripe in juvenilles increase with age. The number of gold stripes in adults can vary from 1-4 and 2-3 is the most common, so it is not a good ID character. Tak giant danio, on the other hand, are quite distinct from all of these giant danios. The dorsal fin position, the present of orange tip on the anterior part of anal fin, and the gold vertical and horizontal stripes are distinctive.

BTW I've heard that the fishing site for large Raiamas guttatus is not very far from Pa Daeng area.

May you post the pic of both Sangkla and Myanmar Devario? And Khun Nonn please post pic of Padaeng devario too on this page so we can all compare easily. Since I don't have the pic in hand right now and had took the preserved Padaeng to campus I can rely only on memory that can be inaccurate at times ^_^.
