It's depend on
- That n.sp. is potentially in any trade or not.
- how its habitats currently managed, protected or controled well?
-How the type specimens obtained, if from bycatch (trawl-net) or mixed with other common, by chance? may not much.
- Legal framework, efficiency in its type locality, if bad like Sarakan, for sure need to be hidden.

Some species so popular in trade then to be new described, like Schistura kaysonei, and some cave fishes.
But case of Schistura pridii , its type localities published, made the fish faced "the same fate in that BBC news".

Good news is S. pridii population is still very healthy.  I plan to check them once every 2 years.  I think as of now, habitat destruction by locals posted more threat to them than trade.
